Welcome to our new editors!

The Planetary Research Cooperative is happy to announce the inaugural editorial board for its soon to be launched journal, Planetary Research. This journal will use the diamond open access publishing model, which means that there will be no fees for authors and readers will be able to access all content without barriers. The journal is expected to begin accepting submissions at the end of this year.

The journal will be led by Mark Wieczorek (Institut de physique du globe de Paris — Université Paris Cité — CNRS, Paris, France) as its Editor-in-Chief. The editorial board will include seven editors:

  • Oded Aharonson (Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel)
  • Marie Běhounková (Charles University, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Prague, Czech Republic)
  • Justin Filiberto (Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science Division, NASA Johnson Space Center, USA)
  • Eli Galanti (Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel)
  • Andre Izidoro (Rice University, Department of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences, Houston, USA)
  • Frédéric Schmidt (GEOPS, Université Paris-Saclay, Orsay, France)
  • Nicola Tosi (Institute of Space Research — German Aerospace Center, Berlin, Germany)

Together, these editors have considerable prior editorial experience at other journals that include the Journal of Geophysical Research Planets, Geophysical Research Letters, Icarus, American Mineralogist, and Meteoritics and Planetary Science.

To compliment the expertise of the editors, the journal has also selected 11 associate editors who will aid the editors in various aspects of the peer review process. The associate editors include:

  • Caitlin Ahrens (NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Planetary Geology, Geophysics and Geochemistry Lab, University of Maryland, College Park, USA)
